A Grandfamily for Sullivan

How does a child persevere when they are removed from their parents due to safety issues in their home? I answer this questions in my new children’s book “A Grandfamily for Sullivan."

Sullivan is a young koala who is scared and confused when he has to leave home to be raised by his Grandma. He is overwhelmed by his big emotions and lashes out at others as a way to cover up his sad feelings...until one day he meets a wise friend who helps him learn how to accept his feelings so he can move forward with his life.

I was inspired to write this book while providing therapy to kinship families in the child welfare system. My goal is to help children in this situation feel acknowledged and empowered with coping skills when unexpected events turn their world upside down.
