Building Relationships that Prevent & Heal Childhood Trauma

Evidence-based training, curricula, and consulting for organizations that serve young children

Childhood trauma is preventable and treatable.

By the time they turn sixteen, nearly two-thirds of children will have lived through at least one traumatic experience.

Let that sink in.

But what I’ve learned through my role as a childhood trauma therapist is that trauma is often preventable.

The research shows that one emotionally attuned, trauma-responsive caregiver can make the difference between lifelong pain and lifelong resilience.

That’s where my work comes in.

Drawing on my background working with young children in the child welfare system, I help adults understand what trauma really is and how to prevent it before it takes root.

When prevention isn’t possible, I teach evidence-based, relationship-centered strategies to restore safety, trust, and connection, because healing trauma always begins in relationship.

Take note: I’m not your stereotypical, jargon-filled therapist. My work is grounded in both professional training and lived experience, including motherhood, loss, and the deep healing that follows. This work is my life’s purpose, and it shows in everything I do.

I don’t lecture from a podium or pretend to have all the answers. I work alongside you. Together, we look at what’s not working in our systems and our relationships, and we find ways to build safety, trust, and hope for the children who need it most. Because that is what prevents and heals trauma.

If you’re ready to move beyond theory and start creating real change, let’s GO.

Join a trauma-informed webinar

Through our trauma-informed and healing-centered workshops on early childhood trauma, we equip organizations with the necessary skills to disrupt the cycle of trauma and support children in their recovery from adversity and loss.

Childhood trauma disproportionately impacts the BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities due to racism, prejudice, and other systemic failings in our culture.

Our ultimate aim at BTTC is to make knowledge about trauma inclusive, accessible, and empowering for all.

To the right, you can see an example of one of my recent webinars to support children coping with supervised family visits.

Be the most trauma-informed person in the room.
